Gauteng police have taken a second person into custody in connection with the brutal killing of an e‑hailing driver in Pretoria West on 11 February 2026. The victim was allegedly hijacked and murdered by a male‑female duo who requested the ride; the hijacked vehicle and the driver’s body were later found in Atteridgeville. A female suspect was already arrested and is due in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on 16 February, facing charges of car‑hijacking and murder .
Investigators say a third suspect remains at large and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to that individual’s arrest. Police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that the case is still under active investigation and urged anyone with relevant details to contact SAPS immediately.
