Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala, the alleged crime kingpin and attempted murder accused, has denied having any relationship with Katiso "KT" Molefe, who is facing murder charges. Matlala made this statement while testifying before Parliament's Ad Hoc Committee at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Facility in Pretoria, where he is currently incarcerated.
Matlala's denial comes amid allegations that he and Molefe are part of a sophisticated criminal syndicate known as the "Big Five", involved in drug trafficking, hijackings, tender fraud, and contract killings. Both men have been implicated in various high-profile crimes, including the murder of DJ Sumbody and engineer Armand Swart.
The Ad Hoc Committee is investigating allegations of corruption and police interference, with Matlala's testimony shedding light on his alleged connections with senior law enforcement officials, including suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu. Mchunu has also denied any personal relationship with Matlala, claiming his lawyers obtained Matlala's affidavit without direct contact.
