BREAKING NEWS: Limpopo’s “Lekompo” star Shebeshxt to face court over alleged Attempted Murder during road‑rage shooting

Limpopo’s controversial music sensation Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke – better known as Shebeshxt – is set to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court this Thursday, November 13, 2025, on two counts of attempted murder. The 30‑year‑old “Lekompo” hit‑maker was taken into custody on Wednesday morning in the upscale suburb of Bendor, just outside Polokwane, after a warrant was issued following a violent incident last month.

Police say the trouble began on the night of Sunday, 19 October 2025, when Chauke allegedly got into a heated road‑rage dispute on Witklip Street in Ladanna. During the confrontation he reportedly fired several shots at the other vehicle, striking a 34‑year‑old man in the face. The victim was rushed to a local hospital and remains in the Intensive Care Unit, fighting for his life.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba of the Limpopo Provincial Police confirmed that detectives obtained the arrest warrant on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, and that the musician’s vehicles were seized for forensic analysis. Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant‑General Thembi Hadebe praised the joint operation, reiterating that “no one is above the law, regardless of their social standing”

Shebeshxt, who burst onto the scene with tracks like “Ke Di Shxt Malume,” has a history of legal run‑ins – a stabbing case in 2022 and a knife‑brandishing video earlier this year – but this is his first appearance on attempted‑murder charges. Fans and critics alike are waiting to see how the court will handle the case, while the victim’s family hopes for justice as the man remains critically ill.

The magistrate’s court hearing will determine whether the rapper will be released on bail or held pending trial. As the story unfolds, the music industry watches closely, aware that the outcome could shape both Shebeshxt’s career and the broader conversation around violence and accountability among South African artists.
