BREAKING NEWS: NPA Says Shebeshxt Shots Fans for Cheering Him

The National Prosecuting Authority says the controversial Lekompo rapper Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, has shot the fans leaving one wounded, for cheering on him. Chauke appeared before the Polokwane Magistrates' Court on charges of attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and possession of an unlicensed firearm. The 30-year-old musician is accused of shooting at two fans who approached him on Witklip Street in Ladanna, Polokwane, on the 19th of October 2025.

The incident occurred when the complainant and his friend greeted and praised Shebeshxt while driving along the street. The musician allegedly responded by saying "Kgane aletlale ka nna?" before firing a shot, striking the complainant in the jaw and damaging a nearby vehicle's window. The victim was taken to Polokwane Provincial Hospital for medical treatment.

Shebeshxt was arrested on November 12, 2025, and is facing multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and malicious injury to property. He is out on R5,000 bail in connection with another case and is scheduled to stand trial from February 17-19, 2026, in the Lebowakgomo Regional Court.

The case has been remanded to November 21, 2025, for profiling of the accused and possible addition of further charges. Shebeshxt remains in custody, says Mashudu Malabi, NPA Limpopo Spokesperson.
