BREAKING NEWS: SAPS Employee Accused of Tampering with Shadrack Sibiya’s Associate - Stuart Scharnick's Criminal Record
The KwaZulu-Natal police have revealed that a South African Police Service (SAPS) employee allegedly tampered with the criminal record of businessman Stuart Scharnick. According to KZN Deputy Commissioner for Crime Detection, Anthony Gopaul, the employee made changes to Scharnick's record on January 16 this year, at 16:58. Gopaul stated that the police system was corrupted at Scharnick's behest, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the police force.
The revelation comes amid Scharnick's association with suspended Crime Detection head, Shadrack Sibiya. Gopaul questioned the nature of Scharnick's reputation and how the SAPS would be perceived given the information known about him. The tampering of Scharnick's record has sparked an investigation, and the KZN police are currently briefing the media on the details of the case.
In a related development, Scharnick has laid charges against Crime Intelligence boss, Dumisani Khumalo, accusing him of tarnishing his image. This follows Khumalo's testimony at the Madlanga Commission, where he revealed Scharnick's criminal record. Scharnick denies the allegations and claims that Khumalo's statements were false and damaging to his reputation. The case highlights the need for transparency and accountability within the SAPS, and the outcome is eagerly awaited by many.
