A horrific incident unfolded in Midrand, where a security officer employed by SBV Services shot and killed two of his colleagues before taking his own life. The incident occurred behind the Gallagher Convention Centre, leaving three men dead at the scene.
According to reports, the security officers, aged 29, 31, and 36, were socializing and consuming alcohol when a heated argument broke out. The 36-year-old security officer allegedly opened fire on his colleagues, killing them instantly, before turning the gun on himself. Paramedics arrived at the scene and declared all three men deceased. Law enforcement agencies, including the South African Police Service (SAPS), were called to the scene to investigate the incident.
Gauteng SAPS Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragic event. SBV Services, a leading cash management and security company in South Africa, has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
