The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court has postponed the bail application of Limpopo lekompo musician Shebeshxt (Lehlohonolo Chauke) for the second time. The 30-year-old artist, known for his hit tracks, is facing serious charges, including attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and unlawful possession of a firearm. The case stems from an October 2025 incident where he allegedly shot at a vehicle, injuring a 34-year-old man.
The courtroom was chaotic earlier this month, with supporters overwhelming the venue and clashing with security. The matter has been rescheduled for next Friday, as the defense needs more time to prepare. Shebeshxt’s legal team is pushing for bail, but prosecutors oppose it, citing the severity of the charges, which fall under Schedule 6 offenses—making bail more difficult to secure.
The musician’s arrest has disrupted his music career, with fans and the Limpopo Artist Movement expressing disappointment over the postponement. Shebeshxt remains in custody until the next hearing.
