Shebeshxt, the popular Limpopo musician, is back in court today for a bail application hearing in connection with an attempted murder case. The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, was arrested on November 12, 2025, following a shooting incident in Polokwane that left a 34-year-old man injured.
Shebeshxt is facing charges of attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and possession of an unlicensed firearm. According to police reports, the incident occurred on October 19, 2025, when Shebeshxt allegedly fired a shot at a motorist after a dispute. The victim was hit in the jaw and is still recovering from his injuries.
This is not Shebeshxt's first brush with the law. He has previously been charged with assault and attempted murder, and was out on R5,000 bail for another case involving similar charges.
The prosecution is pushing for Shebeshxt to remain in custody, citing concerns about his history of violence and the severity of the charges. The court will decide whether to grant bail or keep Shebeshxt behind bars until his trial.
