The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court has significantly expanded the case against Limpopo lekompo musician Shebeshxt (Lehlohonolo Chauke), with six additional charges laid against him during his latest court appearance. This brings the total number of charges he faces to nine, including attempted murder, malicious damage to property, unlawful firearm possession, assault, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The new charges stem from multiple incidents, including the October 2025 shooting in Ladanna, Polokwane, which injured a passenger. Shebeshxt’s legal team requested a postponement to review the new allegations, and the court has scheduled the next hearing for November 28. The prosecution opposes bail, citing the severity of the offenses.
The musician has remained in custody since his arrest on November 12, with supporters rallying behind him despite the escalating legal pressure. The outcome of the case could have major implications for his music career and public image.
