The Pretoria Special Commercial Court has denied bail to Mike Sandlana, leader of an IPHC faction, who is accused of bribing a judge with over R2 million to influence the IPHC succession battle outcome. Sandlana is facing charges related to corruption and attempting to pervert the course of justice. The court has ruled that he will remain in custody pending further proceedings.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has welcomed the court's decision, stating that it demonstrates their commitment to tackling corruption and ensuring accountability. Sandlana's legal team has indicated that they will appeal the bail decision.
