South African rapper Shebeshxt's bail application has been denied by the Polokwane Magistrate's Court. Magistrate Godfrey Netshiozwi ruled that Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, is unlikely to appear in court and has no respect for the law.
The decision was made after it was revealed that most of Shebeshxt's alleged offences were committed while he was out on bail. The rapper faces nine charges, including two counts of attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and malicious damage to property.
The state had strongly opposed Shebeshxt's bail application, arguing that he is a flight risk and a danger to the public. The court also heard that Shebeshxt had allegedly influenced witnesses while on bail, further solidifying the decision to deny him bail.
