ANC's Gwede Mantashe Sparks Outrage with 'Basking in the Sun' Remark

ANC national chairperson Gwede Mantashe has stirred up controversy after suggesting that unemployed citizens are too lazy to look for work. In a recent SABC interview, Mantashe expressed satisfaction with the party's governance record but slammed citizens for not being proactive in seeking employment.

"Basking in the sun" was Mantashe's phrase of choice, urging the unemployed to stop relying on government handouts and start applying for opportunities created by the ANC government. The remark has sparked widespread outrage, with critics accusing Mantashe of being out of touch with the struggles of ordinary South Africans.
