Media personality Dineo Ranaka has reignited a conversation about Black men's behavior in society, responding to Nandi Madida's call for empathy towards Black men. Ranaka expressed concern about the way Black men operate in daily life, citing societal issues rather than personal experiences.
On her Instagram page, Ranaka shared that her concern isn’t about individual relationships, but about how Black men are behaving in society. She wrote that she is “struggling, not because of my own experiences, but because of what I observe in how Black men operate, both in daily life and in society at large.”
Ranaka also emphasized the role of women in driving change, contrasting women who are nurturing and soft with those who fight fiercely for social justice, saying, “Right now, we need the tough love brigade of women to step up and help resuscitate our society. Your turn to lead with softness will come later.” She suggested that structural issues require bold action, not just personal patience or understanding.
Her posts follow Nandi Madida’s call for more grace and empathy toward Black men, which has sparked debate online. Many praised Madida’s call for compassion, while others argued it placed too much emotional labor on women without addressing bigger social problems.
