BREAKING NEWS: MOTSEPE’S ANC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN GATHERS STEAM AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIVE CONFERENCE

The campaign to position billionaire businessman and CAF president Patrice Motsepe as the next ANC president is now in full swing, with insiders confirming that activities will continue into 2027 despite a recent directive from the ANC’s national office urging members to pause leadership battles and focus on the upcoming local government elections. A chief campaigner for Motsepe said the team will still take part in the party’s local‑government drive, noting that the ANC’s National Executive Committee has issued “strict guidelines” requiring members to avoid disciplinary hearings at Luthuli House and to channel their energy into branch, regional and provincial work.

“We must all put our efforts into door‑to‑door campaigns as we head to the local government elections; we are ready and will work tirelessly to make sure the ANC wins,” the campaigner added. He also stressed that Motsepe will remain unavailable for a presidential bid until branches formally “raise their hands” for him, and that the party will respect President Cyril Ramaphosa’s term until it ends.

The “PM27 Savumelana” movement has already produced thousands of branded T‑shirts and set up distribution networks across Gauteng, signaling a well‑organized ground operation even as Motsepe publicly maintains he is not actively seeking the role. Senior ANC figures, including former Ramaphosa adviser Bejani Chauke, are reported to be quietly rallying behind Motsepe, while critics point to his limited grassroots political experience and deep business ties as potential hurdles.
