Gauteng police have taken two additional individuals into custody after an e‑hailing driver was allegedly killed on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. The driver was reportedly hijacked and murdered by a male‑female duo who requested the ride; the vehicle and body were later found in Atteridgeville.
A female suspect was already arrested and is due in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court today, the 16th of February, facing charges of car hijacking and murder. The two newly arrested suspects are expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on the same charges, as investigations continue and police say more arrests are likely.
Meanwhile, the family of 22‑year‑old Isaac David Satlat is urgently seeking funds to transport his body from South Africa to Nigeria after he was strangled by two passengers while working as an e‑hailing driver in Atteridgeville on 11 February 2026. His hijacked vehicle and body were discovered the same day, and a female suspect has already been arrested, with police indicating more arrests are likely.
Satlat, a mobile‑engineering student who was set to graduate next month, leaves behind a devastated family who say the repatriation cost runs into hundreds of thousands of rand and are appealing to the public for help.
