BREAKING NEWS: JMPD Officer to Face Heat for Aiding Alleged Crime Boss KT Molefe

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has announced that it will lay charges against one of its officers, Johannes Makgatle, for allegedly using state resources to aid suspected crime boss Katiso "KT" Molefe. The decision follows an investigation into Makgatle's conduct, which found him in breach of the department's vehicle policy.

According to the JMPD, Makgatle was suspended during the probe after allegations surfaced that he had used a departmental vehicle to drive to Molefe's home while he was supposed to be on sick leave. The investigation found that Makgatle not only used the vehicle without permission but also allegedly disrupted investigators who were attempting to arrest Molefe at the property.

Makgatle has been found guilty of failing to file an occurrence book entry form and not obtaining permission from his superior to use the car. The JMPD has stated that formal charges will be laid against him, and the matter will be referred for internal prosecution.

"Johannes Makgatle will remain suspended while the process unfolds," said JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla. The allegations against Makgatle were heard during testimonies at the Madlanga Commission, which investigated allegations of police corruption and misconduct.

The JMPD has assured the public that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct or abuse of power by its officers.
