BREAKING NEWS: McKenzie Slams CAF, Backs Senegal's AFCON Claim

South Africa's Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, is throwing his weight behind Senegal in their bid to reclaim the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title. McKenzie has confirmed that SA is ready to provide legal support to Senegal, saying "We must not beat around the bush. Senegal are the African Champions because football games are not won in the boardroom".

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board stripped Senegal of its AFCON title, citing Articles 82 and 84 of the AFCON Regulations. But McKenzie's having none of it, posting a picture of Senegal's team with the caption, "African Champions".

The Senegalese Football Federation plans to appeal the ruling at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Meanwhile, SA's positioning itself to host the 2028 AFCON, with McKenzie emphasizing the country's capabilities.
