BREAKING NEWS: SABC Axes Manyathela's Show Amidst 'Political Pressure' Claims From ANC and Presidency
SABC has canned Clement Manyathela's popular TV show "Face the Nation" amidst allegations of political pressure. The show, which aired for two years, ended this month, with Manyathela citing financial constraints as the reason. However, the Presidency has denied any political interference, with spokesperson Vincent Magwenya calling the reports "a complete lie".
According to reports, high-ranking ANC officials had complained about the show's tough political interviews, leading to its cancellation. SABC head of news Deidre Uren reportedly stated that Manyathela's contract wouldn't be renewed due to these complaints.
Manyathela is a well-known journalist and media personality, hosting "The Clement Manyathela Show" on 702 and previously on SABC. His show was known for thoughtful dialogue and insightful analysis on critical social and political topics.
