BREAKING NEWS: Robert Mugabe’ Son Bellarmine Mugabe Paid R600,000 Fine, And He’s Now Deported From South Africa To Zim

Johannesburg – Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe, son of late former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, has paid a R600,000 fine and has been deported from South Africa, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The Department of Home Affairs said Mugabe was removed from the country after settling the fine imposed by a court. The nature of the charges that led to the fine was not detailed in the department’s statement.

Mugabe was reportedly detained by immigration officials earlier this month. Home Affairs spokesperson said deportation proceedings were initiated once the fine was paid and all legal processes were concluded.

“The department can confirm that Mr Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe has been deported to Zimbabwe after complying with a court order to pay R600,000,” the spokesperson said. “He was escorted to OR Tambo International Airport and placed on a flight to Harare this morning.”

Mugabe’s legal representatives have not issued a statement. It is not yet clear if he intends to challenge the deportation. The National Prosecuting Authority declined to comment on the case, referring queries to Home Affairs. Mugabe is one of the late president’s sons and has previously been in the public spotlight over various incidents in South Africa.
