The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) has issued a stern warning to the ANC, threatening to stop campaigning for the party in Gauteng due to Panyaza Lesufi's recent cabinet reshuffle. SANCO Gauteng Chairperson, Abram Mashishi, described Lesufi's move as "reckless, arrogant, and politically bankrupt," saying it was a direct insult to the people of Gauteng and a calculated attack on the alliance.
Mashishi criticized Lesufi's appointment of Nkululeko Dunga as MEC for Finance, citing Dunga's expulsion and questionable credentials, which he claims puts R170 billion at risk. He also slammed the appointment of a former EFF MMC from Ekurhuleni, who was removed amid corruption allegations, as "alarming".
"SANCO won't campaign for the ANC if our demands aren't met," Mashishi warned, adding that Lesufi's actions are damaging the party's reputation. "The Premier must resign and a better person must take over," he said 💸.
The move highlights growing tensions within the ANC alliance in Gauteng, with SANCO's threat potentially impacting the party's campaign efforts.
