BREAKING NEWS: Suliman Carrim Discharged from Hospital, Faces Madlanga Commission

North West businessman and ANC-linked figure Suliman Carrim has been discharged from a private hospital in Johannesburg, according to eNCA. Carrim was released on Saturday afternoon after being admitted earlier this month following a suspected heart attack suffered at a gym in Sandton.

His hospitalisation had delayed his scheduled resumption of testimony before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, which is investigating allegations of political interference and corruption within the criminal justice system. Carrim is now due to appear before the commission on 29 April.

Carrim has faced scrutiny over alleged business deals involving tender tycoons and figures linked to organised crime. In March, he gave evidence in an open session, denying certain relationships and detailing his investments, including a R10 million stake in Medicare24, from which he claimed to have received only R1.74 million.

The commission, chaired by retired Constitutional Court Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, continues its high-profile hearings into alleged systemic corruption within South Africa's law enforcement and justice structures. Carrim's upcoming appearance is expected to draw significant attention.
